Girl From Ohio Dies in Rollover Accident in Michigan

A young girl is dead after a terrible rollover accident in Michigan. She was nine years old. She and her family were from Columbus, Ohio.

Reports from the Michigan State Police Department indicate that the accident happened on April 3, right before 11:30 p.m. The girl was in a Honda Pilot along with eight other members of her family. They were driving down U.S. 23 in the southbound lanes.

It appears that the Pilot may have had a mechanical problem. For some reason, it was driving very slowly. Another car in the southbound lanes came up behind the Pilot and slammed into the back of the SUV.

The girl’s father was driving the vehicle, but he lost control when his SUV was hit from behind. The Pilot left the road, and the father overcorrected as he tried to regain control. This caused the Pilot to crash into the cable barrier, and then it rolled over.

The 9-year-old apparently did not have a seat belt on — reports claim that only her father, the driver, was wearing his belt during the crash — and so she ended up getting partially ejected. As the Pilot rolled, it landed on her.

While everyone else was in stable condition following the crash, the emergency crews took no chances and brought them to the University of Michigan Emergency Department and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for care.

Those who suffer serious injuries in car accidents must know what rights they have to financial compensation. The same is true for surviving family members when someone passes away in the wreck.
